Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 tbsp olive oil
For the Teriyaki Sauce:
¼ cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
2 tbsp pineapple juice (from canned or fresh pineapple)
1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
1 tsp sesame oil (optional for extra flavor)
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated (or ½ tsp ground ginger)
1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (for thickening)
For Grilled Pineapple:
4 pineapple rings (fresh or canned, drained)
Optional: a sprinkle of brown sugar before grilling
Optional Garnishes:
Chopped green onions
Sesame seeds
Lime wedges
