My worst fear was real—someone had been preparing to break into my home.
Then I spotted Ravi at a neighbor’s house.
“He’s here,” I told Leona.
“Talk to him, but carefully. We’re not sure where he stands.”
I approached him.
“I’m sorry about yesterday,” Ravi said. “I saw some guys messing with your trash. They looked shady. I was scared.”
“So the note was your way of warning me?” I asked.
He nodded. “I didn’t know how else to say it.”
